About
Most of us meet the Bhagavad Gita in pieces: a famous line on a calendar, a quote in a speech. Yet its 700 verses were spoken to a man at the worst moment of his life, frozen by grief, fear and doubt, and they answer exactly those feelings.
Paramanas is an app that brings those answers to the moment you need them. You describe what you are going through, and it finds the verses that speak to it. You get a short, plain answer, together with the verse itself, so you can always see where the advice comes from.
The name
Para means beyond, and manas means the mind. Much of the Gita is about the mind: how restless it is, and how it can be steadied. The name also reads as parama manas, the highest mind.
Where the texts come from
- Sanskrit: the traditional text of all 700 verses.
- English: the translation by Annie Besant, published in 1922 and now in the public domain.
- Hindi: a new translation made for Paramanas directly from the Sanskrit, with the help of AI tools.
In the app, the verse is always shown exactly as stored. Only the short answer is written fresh for each question.
What Paramanas is not
It is not a guru, a doctor or a counsellor. It offers one ancient perspective on life’s questions. If you are in crisis or facing a health, legal or money decision, please talk to a qualified person.
